Port Moody, British Columbia
Mr. Cameron Black is a member of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets Corps #2827 (British Columbia Regiment). Since 2005, he has been an integral part of local commemorative events and special Veterans’ activities. His endeavors include assisting Veterans Affairs Canada at the local public library during Veterans’ Week; contributing for many years to the remembrance-themed Canada Day celebrations at the Port Moody Station Museum; participating in the military history shows at the George Derby Veterans Care Centre; and being involved, for the past seven years, with the annual military history encampment at Parks Canada’s Fort Rodd Hill. His commitment to honouring Canadian Veterans is clearly demonstrated by his contributions to a specific event: during Canada Day 2015, Mr. Black arrived at Port Moody Station Museum at 5:00 a.m. to help with the set up. He assisted at the event the entire day, remaining until 6:00 p.m. to help take down and store all the materials. Mr. Black’s dedication to Canadian Veterans is well known in his local community. He is always present and eager to help in any way he is able.
