
In the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Pusan, Korea, stands a memorial to Commonwealth soldiers whose burial places are unknown. The inscription reads:
1950 1953
ON THIS MEMORIAL ARE INSCRIBED THE NAMES OF MEN FROM BRITAIN, CANADA,
AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND AND SOUTH AFRICA WHO DIED IN THE KOREAN WAR AND
HAVE NO KNOWN GRAVE. THEY DIED WITH MEN OF OTHER COUNTRIES FIGHTING TO
UPHOLD THE IDEALS OF THE UNITED NATIONS

The Memorial is of stone on a low base with bronze panels listing the names, 16 of who are Canadian.
The cemetery is a place of peace and tranquility. More than 10,000 trees and shrubs, donated by many countries, have been planted to enhance the beauty of the site.
