VAC disability pension and Retirement Income Security Benefit would be separate payments

Clarification to article by Gloria Galloway, The Globe and Mail, March 13, 2015.

The article states, “A benefit proposed by the government to prevent disabled veterans from spending their retirement years in poverty could disadvantage those injured in older conflicts such as Korea and the Second World War by clawing back their lifetime payments for pain and suffering, veterans advocates say.”

In actuality, the VAC Disability Pension is not affected by the Retirement Income Security Benefit. They would be separate payments.
