Veterans Affairs Canada is committed to honouring those who served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace, and to keeping the memory of their achievements and sacrifices alive for all Canadians. Community Engagement funding supports commemorative activities (e.g. events) or the development of commemorative resources (e.g. learning materials).
Who can apply?
To be eligible, the project must commemorate the achievements and sacrifices of those who served Canada since Confederation (1867). Eligible recipients can be non-profit or for-profit organizations, in Canada or abroad, as well as Canadian provinces, territories and municipalities. Projects must also be of a finite duration, with clear start and end dates.

It is strongly recommended that applications be submitted at least three (3) months before your project’s start date.
Veterans Affairs Canada will acknowledge receipt of applications and may request additional information. Only complete applications can be assessed.
Applicants are typically notified (in writing) of the funding decision within 12 weeks of the date a completed application is received.
