Son of Rev. John Jenkins and Elizabeth Florence Jenkins, of Wellfield, Llantwit-Vardre, Pontypridd, Wales.

Brother of Sergeant David Jones Capenhurst Jenkins, who died on April 9, 1916 while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) and Second Lieutenant Richard Jenkins, who died on November 11, 1916, while serving with the Manchester Regiment.

Vis-en-Artois and Haucourt are villages in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, on the road from Arras to Cambrai. The VIS-EN-ARTOIS BRITISH CEMETERY, HAUCOURT is at the north side of the main road between the two villages.
