  • Photo of Robert Edward Crewe– Bob flew Spitfire Mark V,s with 402 Squad. Whilst doing close escort work to bombers over France he was attacked & hit. After the war a French farmer told the family that he saw Bob bail out but his chute got caught on the tail. He got it untangled but was close to the ground. Upon landing he tried to get up & walk, but had broken most of the bones in his body. He succumbed to his injuries. LEST WE FORGET
