Citation(s):

Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), as per London Gazette dated 26 March 194, "This officer has completed a large number of sorties invariably displaying outstanding skill and devotion to duty. The successes achieved reflect the greatest credit on his efforts which are worthy of high praise." Bar to Distinguished Flying Cross - as per London Gazette dated 24 April 1945, "This officer has taken part in numerous operational flights including combined operations at St.Nazaire where he participated in a highly successful low level bombing attack. As a navigator he is exceptionally efficient." DFC and Bar presented to his mother by Governor General, 17 April 1947.

Location:

Durnbach is a village 16 kilometres east of Bad Tolz, a town 48 kilometres south of Munich. Durnbach War Cemetery is 3 kilometres north of the village Gmund am Tegernsee. Using the A8 from Munich, turn off at the junction Holzkirchen, taking the 318 road in the direction of Gmund am Tegernsee. At the crossroads with the 472, turn left in the direction of Miesbach. The cemetery is situated approximately 500 metres on the left from the 318/472 crossroads.
