Lancaster LM652 was delivered to 166 Sqdn 28Jul44. No operational history available. When lost this aircraft had a total of 87 hour.  Crashed in the Baltic while on a mining (gardening) operation.  The aircraft was seen to go down in flames not far from the east coast of Denmark.  
The body of mid-upper gunner, F/O Flegel, was found 30 Oct. 44 and is buried in Mandal, Norway's southernmost town.
F/O R. G. Bradley of Lansdowne, ON, was washed ashore 4 Oct and is buried in Denmark at Tved (Nols) Churchyard.
Five were never found and their names are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. They are:
Sgt W. France; F/S E. V. Hammond;  P/O A. Scott; F/S (BA) R. N. Smith RCAF and F/O (O) F. K. Morley RCAF.
