"Son of Henry F. Bottie and Angeline Martel dit Lord, Ardoise West, Nova Scotia. Brother of Frances, Joseph, Raymond, Fred, Gordon, Edale and Mary.

Enlisted with the West Nova Scotia (Rifle) Regiment in Aldershot, Nova Scotia, transferred on 27 November 1940 to the 1st Battalion, Royal Rifles of Canada, he served in New Brunswick, in Newfoundland with Force W, in Québec, in Hong Kong with Force C, in Japan as prisoner of war. He had 1,253 days of service, including 801 overseas. "

Location:

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
