BREST (KERFAUTRAS) CEMETERY is in the town of Lambezellec which is 2 kilometres north-east of the centre of Brest. One entrance to the Cemetery stands on a small alley off the main road, and the other one stands on the left side of the Cemetery.

  • Crash site– My father, Hubert William Harding recovered the wreckage of Flying Officer Jones' aircraft during his work in RAF "recovery" in North West France during  World War 2. He was told by villagers that officer Jones' Spitfire had been shot down and would have crashed into a local school had he not deliberately crashed into nearby cliff face. They gave these photos and information to be passed on to his family so the truth of his heroic act could be recognized.
  • Photo of Hubert William Harding– My father/grandfather, Hubert William Harding who worked as part of a "recovery crew" for the RAF in North West France. He recovered the wreckage of Flying Officer Jones' Spitfire and was given these photos and told his heroic tale so it could be passed on to his family and any surviving relatives.
