The inscription on this 1923 Memorial reads:   ¿ERECTED BY MEMBERS OF TORONTO DISTRICTS SONS OF ENGLAND BENEFIT SOCIETY IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR¿.
  • Close up of Sons of England War Memorial– James Summerside's name is included on the SOE War Memorial.
  • Newspaper Clipping– James Summerside was born on April 6th, 1897 at Gateshead, Northumberland, England.  He completed his Attestation on August 20th, 1915 and indicated that he was a bricklayer.
