Born in the town of Merril Wisconsin USA on Jan. 13th 1887 Eli was drafted into the C.E.F. at Victoria BC on July 27th 1918 he listed his occupation as "Miner" in Bear Creek Y.T. Eli died on Oct. 19th 1918 at the age of 31 during the great Spanish flu panademic of 1918-19. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC
