Born in the town of Peake in County Cork Ireland on July 9th 1885.  
Capt. Mahoney enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on Oct. 25th 1917 listing his occupation as "Medical Doctor"  He died during the Spanish Flu panademic of 1918-19 on Jan. 1st 1919 at the age of 33.  He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC
