DICKEBUSCH NEW MILITARY CEMETERY is located 5 Km south west of Ieper town centre, in the village of Dikkebus itself. ( * Dikkebus is the modern spelling of Dickebusch). From Ieper town centre the Dikkebusseweg (N375), is reached via Elverdingsestraat, straight over a roundabout onto J. Capronstraat (for 30 metres), then left along M. Fochlaan. Immediately after the train station, the first right hand turning is the Dikkebusseweg. On reaching the village of Dikkebus, the DICKEBUSH NEW MILITARY CEMETERY is located on the Kerkstraat, which is a small street turning left off the Dikkebusseweg. 200 metres along this street, and just beyond the village church lies the cemetery. This cemetery lies opposite Dickebusch New Military Extension.

  • Plaque– Lieutenant Cyril Keith Aylen was an alumni of the Royal Military College of Canada 1915 #1095. He served with the Canadian Field Artillery, 27th Battery, 7th Brigade. He died on Apr 19, 1916.  His name is listed on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada.
  • Memorial Arch– Lieutenant Cyril Keith Aylen was the son of Peter and Maude Aylen, of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. He was the brother of Gunner Gerald Henry Aylen of the Canadian Field Artillery, who died on August 24, 1918. He was Cadet # 1095 of the class of 1915 at the Royal Military College of Canada. He served with the Canadian Field Artillery, 27th Battery, 7th Brigade. He died on Apr 19, 1916.  He was buried in the Dickebusch New Military Cemetery, Ieper West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. As an ex-cadet, he is named on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada.
  • Stained Glass Window– Lieutenant Cyril Keith Aylen was cadet 1095 in the class of 1915 at the Royal Military College of Canada. On their 50th anniversary, the class of 1915 at the Royal Military College of Canada have placed this memorial stained glass window to honour their fallen comrades.
  • Memorial– Pro Deo Et Patria Erected by the Royal Military College Club of Canada Anno Domini 1923. Ex-cadets are named on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada.

He was the brother of Gunner Gerald Henry Aylen of the Canadian Field Artillery, who died on August 24, 1918. He served with the Canadian Field Artillery, 27th Battery, 7th Brigade. He died on Apr 19, 1916.  He was buried in the Dickebusch New Military Cemetery, Ieper West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
