Location:

BEDFORD HOUSE CEMETERY ENCLOSURE NO.4 is located 2.5 Km south of Ieper town centre. The cemetery lies on the Rijselseweg (N365), the road connecting Ieper to Armentieres. From Ieper town centre the Rijselsestraat runs from the market square, through the Lille Gate (Rijselpoort) and directly over the crossroads with the Ieper ring road. The road name then changes to the Rijselseweg. The cemetery itself is located 2 Km after this crossroads on the left hand side of the Rijselseweg.

  • Circumstances of death registers– Source: Library and Archives Canada. CIRCUMSTANCES OF DEATH REGISTERS, FIRST WORLD WAR Surnames: Dack to Dabate. Microform Sequence 26; Volume Number 31829_B016735. Reference RG150, 1992-93/314, 170. Page 263 of 1140.  The Register states “Body not recovered for burial”, however, there is a grave marker for him in  BEDFORD HOUSE CEMETERY (ENCLOSURE 4).
  • Photo of Martin Dand– Martin Dand, 22yrs. old, single, predeceased by his parents Mungo and Anne Marie Dand. Left to mourn were his brothers and sisters: Janet McIntyre, William Dand, Marion "Minnie" McRae, Margaret "Maggie" Graham, James Dand, Andrew Dand and Cora Dand. Martin was born and raised on a farm near Feversham, Ontario on the 10th line Osprey County.
