Son of James and Isabella (née Calder) McLagan, of Carluke, Ontario. Pte McLagan was a farmer and teamster before he enlisted. He was the captain of the Carluke Baseball team in 1905. In Autumn 2006, the City of Hamilton will install a small plaque above the names that are engraved on the Ancaster Cenotaph. It will bear the name of Bruce McLagan who was missed from the Cenotaph when it was created.
