Brother of Private Claude Joseph Patrick Nunney, who died while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Eastern Ontario Regiment).

Claude Nunney was awarded a Victoria Cross for his actions against the Drocourt-Queant line.

Fouquescourt is a village in the Department of the Somme, 35.5 kilometres east of Amiens and 8 kilometres due north of Roye. The Fouquescourt British Cemetery is a little north of the village on the east side of the road to Maucourt.

38th Ottawa Overseas Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force and his brother Alfred were British Home Children emigrating at 12 and 13 from Hastings, Sussex through St George's Home in Hintonburg. Both had World War I related deaths in France at 24 and 26.
