Son of William and Sarah Baty, of 1215, 11th St. West, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; husband of Mrs. Dorothy McCallum (formerly Baty, nee Howland), of Coburg, Ontario. Born at Newcastle-on-Tyne, England.

Brother of Private Robert Baty, who died while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment).
