The cemetery is located in Dhekelia, Cyprus. There are graves for nine Canadians who served with the United Nations peacekeeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) and who died between 1964 and 1970.

  • Photo of JOSEPH PATRICK EVERETT BERNARD– Picture of My Brother Everett Joseph Patrick Bernard. I thought it would be nice to have a picture of my brother added to the ones you have of his grave in Cyprus. He was the first born of seven children. We think of him often and miss him. His parents have passed now but his siblings are still all alive. Thank you.

  • Captain Dan Zegarac RCAF salutes his fallen comrades– These photographs were taken on July 1, 2004 at the Dhykelia British Garrison Cemetery where a short ceremony was held to Honour and remember those nine Canadian service men buried there. All nine were part of the UN Peacekeeping missions from 1964 through to 1970.  
Buried at Dhekelia are: Trooper Joseph H. Campbell, Royal Canadian Dragoons, who died July 31, 1964; Lieut. Kenneth E. Edmonds, who died Dec. 25, 1964, aged 44; Rifleman Perry James Hoare, who died Aug. 14, 1965, aged 25; Lance Cpl. Joseph P. Chartier, Canadian Guards, who died March 14, 1966, aged 20; Pte. Joseph P. E. Bernard, The Black Watch, who died July 9, 1966, aged 23; Trooper Lennard Wain Nass, Canadian Hussars, who died Sept. 27, 1966, aged 24; Cpl. O.J. Redmond, Royal Canadian Regiment, who died March 10, 1967, aged 35; Cpl. K.A. Salmon, Canadian Army Provost Corps, who died on Sept. 27, 1967, aged 31; Pte. T.A. Lerue, who died Feb. 9, 1970, aged 19.
