Son of William and Amanda (nee Nieman) Ford of Hessle, Yorkshire, England. Brother of William. Flight Lieutenant Ford had been with #3 Squadron, flying Hurricane aircraft, during the Battle of France and Dunkirk and had flown Hurricane aircraft with #232 Squadron in the Battle of Britain. Flight Lieutenant Ford is commemorated on the Battle of Britain Monument in London having participated in the Battle.
