Son of Lorette (Vienneau) and John Gallagher of Bathurst, New Brunswick. Sgt. Gallagher spent thirteen years with the Moncton Police in New Brunswick before joining the Force. He died as a result of a massive earthquake on January 12, 2010, while on mission in Haiti.

He was promoted to Cpl. in 2004 and to Sgt. in 2007. Sgt. Gallagher was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal and earned the Police Exemplary Service Medal. He was a boating enthusiast and loved to be on the water with family and friends.

Sgt. Gallagher was married to Lisa and they had 2 children: Heather and Shane. He is buried in Dieppe, New Brunswick.

Commemorated on Page 225 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
