November 28, 1966

Cpl. Jones received a commendation from his Commanding Officer for courage and perseverance in apprehending a dangerous man who was armed with a loaded shotgun. At the time of his death he was posted to Ucluelet Detachment on Vancouver Island. An investigation revealed that the helicopter Cpl. Jones was traveling in had hit an unmarked suspension cable which was virtually impossible to see against the wooded background. Cpl. Jones was married to Evi and they had a son and a daughter.

Commemorated on Page 172 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
