Cst. Brooks was on his way to Kiugak Ashoona as part of an investigation when the boat he was on (with three others) was engulfed in near blizzard conditions. Cst. Brooks’ service had been in Massett, BC and then Cape Dorset, NWT. He was married to Cindy and they had a child. He is buried in Sicamous, BC.

Commemorated on Page 162 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
