Prior to joining the Force, Cst. McLachlan studied Aircraft Technology. By joining the Force, he followed in his father’s footsteps. Cst. McLachlan was posted to Gimli and Fisher Detachment in Manitoba. He applied for Northern Service and in 1978 he received his transfer to the Yukon Territories. Cst. McLachlan is buried beside his father (S/Sgt. Percy McLachlan) in Garry Memorial Park in Winnipeg, MB.

Commemorated on Page 159 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
