2/Cst. Farough was awarded the bronze medal of the Royal Life Saving Society for swimming and lifesaving ability. He accidentally drowned while on patrol in Lake Simcoe, near Georgina Island, Ontario. 2/Cst. Farough’s body was found 19 days after the accident. At the time of his death, 2/Cst. Farough was posted at the Orillia Detachment. He is buried in Glenbow Cemetery in Manitoba.

Commemorated on Page 94 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
