Constable Rhodes was born in England. He came to Canada in 1923 to take up farming. He died from injuries received when the police detachment burned to the ground at Rae, Northwest Territories. At the time of his death, he was engaged to be married to Nellie Haigh of England.

Commemorated on Page 48 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
