This memorial is dedicated to the memory of Russell Cleveland Budreo, a member of the 38th Infantry Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, killed in France on 24 March 1918.

In 1961, the McLeod United and Stewarton United churches amalgamated to become McLeod-Stewarton United Church (MSUC). In 2008 the Bell Street United Church joined McLeod-Stewarton United becoming Centretown United Church.
