The Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada Sidney Unit 302 funded this project to commemorate Canada’s peacekeeping forces as well as all of our Veterans and current serving members of the Canadian Military. The bronze statues were designed by local artist Nathan Scott. It consists of an eight foot memorial with statues of two peacekeepers and a 40 foot flag pole at the back. The statue of the soldier standing on the granite base is dressed in a 1980s uniform. The statue of a soldier kneeling with a C-7 rifle in his hands is is wearing a uniform and helmet of the 2000s.
