Relevé 1: Information for residents of Quebec
What is a Relevé 1?
A Relevé 1 provides a record of the salary or benefits paid during the year and the deductions withheld for income tax purposes.
Why does VAC issue a Relevé 1?
In order to participate in the PSHCP through VAC's Health Benefits Program, individuals are required to pay a monthly contribution known as the “pensioner” share. The portion provided by the Government of Canada, is known as the “employer” share.
This "employer" contribution to the PSHCP represents a taxable benefit in Quebec. As a result, VAC must issue a Relevé 1 each year to Quebec clients enrolled in the program.
The Relevé 1 does not identify your contributions. In order to determine your own total contributions, you will need to review your bank statements.
