Veterans Independence Program (VIP) – Changes effective November 15, 2010
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) is improving how we deliver the Veterans Independence Program (VIP). Beginning November 15, 2010, you will no longer need to sign and return the "VIP Application and Contribution Arrangement" form
(VAC 1305), each time a change is made to your benefits or services.
You may have received a letter from us advising you of this change. This letter is only to let you know about this change in our process, which will help us provide a better and faster service to you. You are not required to do anything at this time.
As always, any changes to your VIP benefits and services will be made in your best interest and only after having discussed it with you.
The following Questions and Answers may help answer any questions you may have. If however, you have specific questions about your VIP benefits, please call us toll-free at 1-866-522-2122 or by TTY at 1-800-465-7735.
The Veterans Independence Program is a national home care program provided by Veterans Affairs Canada. The program was established in 1981 to help clients remain healthy and independent in their own homes or communities.
VIP does not replace other federal, provincial or municipal programs. Instead it complements these programs when necessary, to best meet the needs of our clients.
VIP is only available in Canada. It cannot be offered to clients who live outside of Canada.
