Never Felt Threatened

Transcript
We were always peacekeepers. We never showed aggression. As well as being a mechanic trying to train the guys there, the Haitians. Yes we had, we had rules of engagement, if you want, and it was to defend ourselves once attacked or fired upon. But that never happened and the weapons always stayed holstered. It was never a big conflict there. I never felt threatened there ever once. Because it was such a disorganized, poor place, it never entered my mind that someone could get a weapon or explosives and start creating chaos of any kind. The only thing that we ever heard of was the pilfering, stealing and stuff like that. Anything if it wasn't bolted down, locked up or nothing like it, they just went at it, but there was never open violence if you wish. One night we parked our vehicle and it was all locked up and chained up and everything when they still broke a window and stole our radios so, you know. That's about the only biggest attack we ever had.
