Getting to go Overseas

Transcript
I used to go down to the administration office everyday and ask them if I could go overseas, and I think they got tired of hearing me so they, finally they sent me. I was home on leave when I got a telegram saying that I was posted to Halifax so I knew I was going overseas so. So um... I had to go and get a medical and, and uh... and then report back to Calgary and... and I missed out on half my leave. You had to go through all this, go to every, every section on the station and get cleared that you didn’t have anything that belonged to them, and then I started on the train trip back to Halifax. They had a ferry then to go from, across the Bay of Fundy, and I, I was seasick, and I thought “Gee, I still have the whole Atlantic Ocean to go across yet.”
