On October 27, 1947, the chimes were installed in the church pipe organ as a gift from Dr. Gordon Ferrier and Mrs. Ferrier in memory of their son. The chimes were dedicated by Rev. William Fingland, DD, of Niagara Falls.

Flying Officer Ferrier had completed one tour of operations, joined the Pathfinders and was on his sixth or seventh flight operating from Oakington, Cambridge, when he failed to return.

The Wesley Mimico United Church building at 47 Station Road was sold in 2016. The chimes no longer exists and the plaque is in storage at the church office on Lake Shore Boulevard West.
