The Government of Canada will host a traditional wreath-laying ceremony at the Halifax Memorial (Sailors’ Memorial) to commemorate the sacrifices of those who fought and died during the Second World War. To this day, when Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships pass the Halifax Memorial between Colours (0800 hours) and sunset, they will “pipe the still” to honour the fallen.

The Government of Canada is pleased to invite the official delegation and the public to participate in this ceremony as part of the 75th anniversary commemorations for D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
