With Canada’s entry into the Second World War, everyone was encouraged to do their part. The Women & Wartime: Defending North Vancouver 1939-1945 exhibition at the Community History Centre explores women and children’s contributions on the North Vancouver home front during the Second World War. Featuring personal stories from North Vancouver residents on air raid preparedness, internment of Japanese Canadians, and women’s entry into the armed forces, visit the exhibition to discover different perspectives on what life was like on the North Shore. The Women & Wartime exhibition is on view to the public from November 7, 2019 – February 22, 2020. The Archives at the Community History Centre is open Thursdays & Fridays 12-5pm and Saturdays 10-5pm.
