The Town of Kensington will be the host community for this year's Battle of the Atlantic Commemorative Ceremony. The event will include a flag raising at the residence of Blanche MacAleer in Stratford PE a 99 years-old widow of Second World War Veteran John MacAleer (RCAF Medical Corps) and sister of Vernon Campbell, Second World War Veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy. The flag raising will be followed by a military parade at the Town of Kensington Veterans' Memorial Gardens Cenotaph. In the event of inclement weather, the alternative location will be at the Kensington Community Gardens Area Complex - 25 Garden Drive, Kensington PE. A post parade reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 9, 30 Garden Drive Kensington PE. The public is invited to attend and there is no cost associated to attend the event.
