Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund

 
If you are an organization that works to create new and innovative ways to improve the well-being of Canadian Veterans and their families, the Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund may offer the support you need to get started.

About this program

The Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund provides grants and contributions to private, public or academic organizations to conduct research and implement initiatives and projects that support the well-being of Veterans and their families.

  • Grants: up to $500,000 per fiscal year
  • Contributions: up to $1 million per fiscal year

The fund could support a wide range of projects, such as suicide prevention research, an initiative that helps homeless Veterans find housing, or any innovative projects that contribute to the well-being of Veterans and their families. Whatever it may be, we encourage you to share your idea and submit an online application to the Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund.


Do you qualify?

To qualify, you must be a:

  • Non-profit organization; or
  • For-profit organization (provided that the nature and intent of the activity is non-commercial, not intended to generate profit, and supports program priorities and objectives);
  • Research organizations/institute;
  • Educational institution;
  • Public health and social services institution; or
  • Indigenous organization.

The 2022-2023 call for applications for the Veteran and Family Well-Being Fund is now closed.

Please note: This program supports initiatives that support the well-being of Veterans as defined by Veterans Affairs Canada. Visit our website for the full definition of a Veteran.

Not all submitted applications will be selected for funding, as funding is limited. Please note that decisions are final and there is no appeal process.

No. This fund is intended for organizations, not individuals.

How much funding can an organization apply for?

Veterans Affairs Canada may award grants up to a maximum of $500,000 per fiscal year, and contributions up to a maximum of $1 million per fiscal year, for a maximum of five years. However, Veterans Affairs Canada encourages organizations to apply for the amount of funding that their research, project or initiative requires, and not the maximum amount available.
