Chapter 10 - Nose, Throat and Related Conditions

10.01 - Chronic Sinusitis

Assessment of its severity depends on history and physical examination. Its presence must be established by X- ray.

Mild to moderate Nil to 10%
Severe 10% to 20%

10.02 - Chronic Rhinitis

Assessment of its severity depends on history and physical examination.

Mild to moderate Nil to 10%
Severe, e. g. with recurrent polyps 10% to 20%

10.03 - Deviated Nasal Septum

Seldom more than 5%. Occasionally, a perforation of the septum may occur as a result of surgical treatment. The perforation may cause no symptoms, or it may cause symptoms of some severity - crusting, nosebleeds, for example. Depending on the frequency and severity of the symptoms, the assessment may go as high as 10%.

10.04 - Permanent Tracheostomy
