Travel subsidy

Do you want to take part in one of the 75th anniversary events taking place in 2019 or 2020? We can provide a travel subsidy to offset the cost of your travel, meals and accommodations.

About this program

A travel subsidy of up to $2,000 CDN is available to Second World War Canadian Veterans or Allied Veterans living in Canada who have attended or plan to attend 75th anniversary events throughout 2019 and 2020 for D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, the Battle of the Scheldt, the Italian Campaign, the Liberation of the Netherlands, V-E Day or V-J Day.

The subsidy is being provided to offset the costs for Veterans of the Second World War to attend these events.

Official Canadian delegations are also traveling to these events and we encourage Canadian Second World War Veterans interested in participating to contact us at: vac.commemorativeevents-activitescommemoratives.acc@canada.ca.
