Canada Remembers Theme Week at Encounters with Canada

Veterans Affairs Canada partners with Encounters with Canada to offer a week full of remembrance-related activities for high-school students. The Canada Remembers Theme Week takes place each year during Veterans’ Week in November, at the Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre in Ottawa.

Come experience many engaging activities, such as:

  • Visit to Parliament Hill and the Peace Tower
  • Workshops on the theme of remembrance
  • Overview session about Canadian military history
  • Guest speakers with military and remembrance connections
  • Walk of Remembrance in downtown Ottawa
  • Visit to the Canadian War Museum
  • Peace Module and candlelight ceremony
  • Wartime meal with Veterans
  • Remembrance ceremony*

*When Remembrance Day falls on a week end, a special ceremony is organized for theme week participants.
