Job requirements

To apply, you must:

• be a full-time post-secondary student
• be fluently bilingual in English and in French
• have strong public speaking skills, and
• have experience working with the public

At the beginning of your interview, you will have a brief conversation in your second language to assess your language skills.

Conditions of employment

Before the job start date, you must obtain a valid:

• First Aid Certificate
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
• Canadian driver's license with no restrictions and a valid international driving permit
• Canadian passport
• French work visa, and
• Confirmation of current full-time student status in a recognized post-secondary institution (with Registrar's seal of proof) and a signed attestation confirming the intent to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.

Recruitment process

1. Apply
   • Student guides are hired through the Government of Canada’s Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP).
   • Submit your application and resumé through FSWEP using the Apply Now! button at the top of this page.
   • Your application must be received by the work term deadline above
2. Interview
   • If selected, you will have a 20-30 minute telephone interview to assess your knowledge, abilities and second language levels
   • Before the interview, you’ll receive study materials (which will help you answer the knowledge questions!)
3. Results
   • You will receive your results within 3-4 weeks of your interview
   • If chosen, you’ll receive details about the job and documents you need to work in France
