Erected by the citizens of Morewood to the memory of James George son of Thomas and Eliza Stephenson of Morewood, Ontario who died at Pretoria, South Africa on March 13 1902 while engaged in defence of the Empire on the S.A.C. in the Boer war.

  • Memorial at Bloemfontein Zoo– The entrance to the Bloemfontein Zoo is free if you explain that you are going to visit the monument and return within one hour.  The Zoo is located near the  waterfront tourist complex and stadium. The memorial is located in the Zoo between the "big cats" and the camel pens.
