Location:

CORIANO RIDGE WAR CEMETERY is 3.5 kilometres west of Riccione, a seaside resort on the Adriatic coast, and is reached by turning west off the main Rimini/Riccione road about 1 kilometre north-west of Riccione. In the town of Riccione is a sign leading to the Coriano Ridge War Cemetery. Carry on in the direction of Coriano until a 'T' junction is reached. Turn left and after a short distance the Cemetery will be found on the right-hand side. The cemetery is permanently open and may be visited outside the working hours of the local gardening staff, but will be unmanned.

  • Letter– Metro's last letter to my Father Joseph (his brother). "The war will be over in a couple of weeks, I hope."  Two weeks to the day, Metro was killed September 20, 1944.
  • Envelope– The air mail letters are a 4-fold, this is the back addressed
  • Photo of Frederick Seman– Metro's father, Frederick Seman in uniform in the early 1900's.  He lived in Europe, I do not know what country this uniform is from.
  • Certificate– The Canadian Government has named lakes and rivers in memory of the soldiers who died fighting for our country.  This is Metro's, Seman River in northern Manitoba.
  • Letter– This is letter that accompanied the CNC certificate map.
  • Group photo– Metro's parents, Frederick and Katherine 'Koch' Seman

A huge 'Thank You' to Corrin Fraser in Italy for organizing this Remembrance Day & making sure all our troops had a Canadian flag on their markers!! and Corrin 'Thank You' so very much for the pictures & for giving our Family closure, and to Lt. Gen. Stephen Molaski for honoring my uncle!!!
  • Grave marker– Early evening after the ceremony at Coriano Ridge on November 12, 2013.  What a beautiful cemetery.  Thank you to the people in Italy for honoring our soldiers with such beautifully kept grounds.
