  • Photo of Charles Elliott Sutcliffe– Captain (and then Major) Charles Elliott Sutcliffe in Ottawa, 77th Battalion, CEF, before sailing to England on SS Missanabi, June 6, 1916. Joined Royal Flying Corps in August 1916 - attached to 54th Squadron in May, 1917 and shot down in June, 1917 near Epinoy, France.  The Germans dropped a message onto British Lines saying he was dead.
