  • Photo of George Thomas Coubrough– George Thomas Coubrough was known to his family and friends as "Bud." The second of their three children, Bud was his parents' only son. Bud's father, Harve, himself one of four sons of Matt and Liz Coubrough of Ogema, Saskatchewan, to have served overseas in the First World War, was one of only two who came home. Bud had celebrated his 20th birthday a little over a month before his plane crashed into a power line during a training flight, leaving behind his parents, two sisters, Edith and Evelyn, and his best girl, Jac. Coubrough Lake in northern Saskatchewan (near Lac LaRonge) is named for Bud. This picture was taken in the spring of 1942.
