Son of Ansley Snear and Mary Louise Kaine of Campbellton, New Brunswick.

Nephew of Private James Albert Kaine, who died of tuberculosis while serving with the Canadian Infantry, 132nd Battalion CEF (Quebec Regiment) and Private Benjamin Edward Kaine, who died at Vimy Ridge while serving with 87th Battalion, CEF.

Thomas served in Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland with Force W, Hong Kong with Force C and Japan as a prisoner of war. He had 1,607 days of service, including 828 overseas.

Location:

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
