Location:

Sains-les-Marquion is a village about 12 kilometres north-west of Cambrai and 2 kilometres south of the D939, Arras to Cambrai road. SAINS-LES-MARQUION BRITISH CEMETERY lies at the junction of the D15 and D16 roads, about 1.5 kilometres from the centre of the village.

  • Memorial– "The Canal du Nord memorial, erected by the 
15th Battalion Memorial Project and the town of Marquion, was unveiled and dedicated on 24 September 2012. The memorial commemorates the actions of the 15th Battalion CEF, during the Canadian assault on the Canal du Nord on 27 September 1918 and the memory of those members of the Battalion who fell during the engagement. The memorial sits alongside the existing Canal du Nord, inside the town of Marquion, which the Battalion captured during the battle."
