On Wednesday, December 2nd, 1914, Cowdenhall received 22 convalescent Belgian and British soldiers into their care, the first of many to find care here.

Enlisted in the C.E.F. at Valcarter Quebec Sept. 22nd 1914 at the age of 31.  He listed his occupation as "Agent"  Died in Vancouver BC Dec. 22nd 1918 age 35.
