  • Newspaper Clipping– This report of the death of Second Lieutenant A.C. Williams appeared at page 5 in the September 20, 1917 issue of the Barrie Examiner newspaper (Barrie, Ontario). Note that, contrary to what is stated in this report, the other occupant of the airplane, Cadet J.E. Ludford, was a member of the Royal Flying Corps (not the "American Flying Corps") and his hometown was Caracas, Venezuela (not "Baracas"). Note too that Camp Hoare was the Royal Flying Corps airfield at Camp Borden, west of Barrie, Ontario, named after Lieutenant-Colonel (later Brigadier-General) C.G. Hoare, the commanding officer of the RFC in Canada.
