Location:

Loos (Loos-en-Gohelle) is a village to the north of the road from Lens to Bethune. From Lens, take the N43 towards Bethune. Arriving at Loos, turn right at CWGC sign post. The LOOS BRITISH CEMETERY is about 1 kilometre from Loos Church in the southern part of the village.

  • Monument– The headstone and grave of Mrs. Letitia Ellis ATCHESON in the City Cemetery, Derry, Northern Ireland (Plot A 103). Also remembered on the headstone is her son John James ATCHESON. The headstone states that he is buried at Lens Canadian Cemetery Number 1 - however the Commonwealth War Graves Commission records state that he is buried in Loos British Cemetery, Plot 3.B.6.
The headstone records that his father was Mr. C.W. ATCHESON although it appears that he is not buried here.
